Did I ever post the picture of the Christmas tree at Dominica's sister's house?
A tree is hiding somewhere in that?
It is actually rather hard to spot!

That reminds me of xmas at my grandmother's when I was a kid. There were 5 grandchildren and the pile was at least that big.

Wow, I've never heard of anyone who said that they saw similar sizes before. My wife's family is incredulous that this isn't considered "normal."

My parents tend to go overboard every year... It has gotten less now that we are all older but we did have a few X-Mas' trees similar to that.

My parents (mainly mom) and grandparents where crazy about xmas. I think the worst year was the tree in the corner, presents started behind/under the tree, then in front of the tree it was at least 3 ft tall, and ramped out for at least 5 feet. I'm pretty sure presents for my parents and grand parents where in there too.
I just think back to those huge piles and shake my head - of course as a child it was fantastic.

Kicking myself for not realizing that I had left out an important firewall rule a few months ago when I setup my new Sophos SG 210. I setup NTP rules from various WiFi networks' VLANs to my DCs but forgot to allow the DCs out on UDP 123 to get to an external time server. I was wondering why everything was off by a full 2 minutes. Once I tried to /resync on the DC, it didn't work (no time data available), down the rabbit hole then I checked the firewall logs and noticed blocking of 123 from the DC. Added that rule and everything is good to go.
Face palm.

Learning about this thing called jigdo to download lots of debian packages as a single installer. Slow internet is just sad.

Played a few minutes of Fallout 3 but it kept crashing. Then Luciana asked to take over and game herself. So I'm back a the laptop while she plays Castaway Paradise.
-
She LOVED that game. Now Liesl is playing Castaway Paradise too. They love this game.
I've managed to find some real gems in these Steam sales. This one is great for the little kids.

How did it go?

Well we had a major shopping fail. Turns out that today is the Feast of the Epiphany and this is a Greek Orthodox country. Nothing open. Nothing. Anywhere. Not even grocery stores.

Any truck stops around? That's the only place I can think of around here that's open 24/7/365 anyway.
