What Are You Doing Right Now

Oddly, once you get past a certain level, all the bad HR behaviour goes away too. Suddenly HR departments become nice and useful and helpful.

@ajstringham what kind of stuff were they asking? I have not done an HR-first interview in forever. For the past dozen years I do tech and management interviews and HR only gets involved after I have been made an offer. Thanksfully, once you get to mid-career level, HR isn't really involved in the hiring process anymore.
To be honest, I don't remember. The recruiter said the other candidates they've hired didn't have this interview, and that I was the first, so he didn't know what to expect. It didn't feel well planned on his part, and he was 15 minutes late calling me because he was having phone issues in the office. So...it was just not smooth is all I can say.

My last HR call was very casual and just a conversation. Nothing to "answer" at all. Just me and the HR girl talking.

Catching up on office paperwork.
-
Dealing with AT&T to test the DSL line at a site..
Unfun

Like I said, it was really weird. I wasn't sure what to make of the whole call. Hopefully I can "make it up" on the technical interview.

Texting Scott and wondering if I still have the right number...

@Jaguar He likely won't get a text. His reception sucks in the office.
-
@Dominica Then I shall text you!~

Working on a huge 3D model translation. Bad design practices = bad data = bad translations.
-
@Dashrender Pretty good, just did vacation at tomorrowworld, and heading up to new york next week for a concert and to visit my brother... and to eat a ton of food.
How you doin'
-
@Jaguar getting back into the swing of it. I've started school again, need/kinda want to pickup programming/scripting.
-
@Dashrender Good on ya, I've yet to motivate myself enough to seriously dig into a new cert course. I can't stand programming, I'm a fixer more than a maker

Me too, but I'm trying to look forward - it's just for the skillset, not for everyday use, at least at this point.

Currently stuck at JFK till at least 8:30pm. My first flight was 45 minutes late so I missed my connecting flight. So now waiting to see if I am lucky enough to get on the next one (standby sucks). If not I will be crashing with @scottalanmiller and @Dominica tonight. I really want to just go home. I HATE Delta this is the second time they have stranded me somewhere.
