What Are You Doing Right Now

Well here's a good one. I had a client call me because their HP scanning utility wouldn't scan to email. He has eM Client installed on his computer but the scanning app says it can't find an email application. Apparently the application looks for a registry entry of OUTLOOK.EXE and if it's not there, it just says it can't find an email application. So I made a registry entry for OUTLOOK.EXE and pointed it to eM Client and it works now. Great job HP.

I've begun to realize that I am the tech you want to send on a remote mission to fix broken junk. My powers of cobbling together equipment from a background in electronics is pretty rare. Also I work well under pressure. Please consider hiring me next time you need to send a tech to hike out into the jungle to service your busted garbage.

Good Morning people.. trying to figure out what is the best thing to do today lols

We lost power this afternoon, that was fun. So we sat in the dark for a while. Then I went to the corner and had beers with the expats while we watched the power lines get re-strung.

Took my six year old to dinner. We had fish and chips just the two of us. It was a fun evening.

Thanks guys, actually I had fever fora day but I was taking the usual paracetamol and was waiting to see if that subsides.next day morning collapsed in the washroom, wife got ambulance reached hospital and during primary evaluation, collapsed again. Just to rule out any possible issues and since my insurance covered, hospital did pretty extensive evaluation of heart brain, xray, mri etc. Thanks God all results were ok and they concluded that that I passed out due to high fever. Anyways back home and full rest for 5 more days. It was American hospital and the bill was 19K! Luckily all covered by insurance.

Trying to wrap my head around the configuration of a Meraki Firewall and why they dont' make it easy to plug in an IP address for LAN interfaces... At first glance, it looks like I have to configure the address by using VLANs.
