Windows 10 Installation Induced Boredom Day
-
It is July 29th, 2016 and around the world, thousands of IT pros sit idly by as one computer after another gets begrudgingly updated to Windows 10 before the final deadline hits. There is going to be an epic loss of global productivity today as IT departments all over the world spend their day fighting with Windows installs.
-
How many people are doing Windows 10 upgrades today?
-
I'm doing an HP Folio 13-2000 right now. Hopefully my only one.
-
Have a couple of straggler laptops to do tomorrow. But honestly we were done with the major update in June. Just field laptops coming in all this month.
-
Eh where I'm at has opted to not upgrade to windows 10.... yet when we have to will end up paying out of our nose to upgrade.
Smart right?
-
The upgrade is included with our Enterprise Agreement. So we've been doing it as new computers go out. All of our labs will be Windows 10 by next month though.
-
I getting my arguments ready for when my keys say they were really not upgraded.
Does that count?
-
I finished the last one up this morning, didn't want to wait hours for it to finish the install last night, the drive is needing replaced, which means it's time to kick that old POS out the door soon. It's one of the last remaining computers purchased by someone who can only be described as a cheapskate, I don't spend my time fixing all the broken computers anymore!
-
The one that I am trying to do doesn't want to do it. Argh. Of course the straggler is giving me problems.

I am going to convert my wife's machine over today.
It's realllll old, and I'm wondering how smooth it will go.

Same here. I did my personal laptop already, may re-attempt the upgrade on my tablet when I get home (it failed the hardware compatibility because of a video driver, maybe they have one now).

I have a couple stragglers finishing up today.
-
Summer company picnic is in 2 hours. All my upgrades are done.

You know, slow cooking meet either directly or in-directly for an extended period of time to get super tender meat, that taste like nectar from the gods.

Went well, except I can't get it activated, and they keep hanging up on me.
