But that means that you can run the lighter 32bit OS version that is faster AND it is already overclocked and includes a massive passive heatsink.

But the web browser plus whatever else is running in addition to the OS will still eat up what's left of the RAM pretty easily I would think. My phone uses more than 4g of ram easily.

Not really. It's actually hard to use up the 4GB RAM on the RPI4 as a normal user. Remember that everything running on it is lean, like LXDE for example.

      https://www.tomshardware.com/uk/news/raspberry-pi-4-8gb-tested

I'd say that if you're happy with the RPI4 performance as a desktop then there's a 95% chance that 4GB RAM will be enough.

If you're a power user then RPI4 is too slow and you'll probably looking at something with at least 16GB RAM anyway.

This is why I like the RP400. It's the CPU, more than the RAM, that is the bottleneck for use and the RP400 is like 15% faster.

RISC-V is seen as the future with more modern and more open design than ARM and zero security risks like ARM has. ARM is so risky, I'd never risk (pun intended) developing something new with it, only something old.

      Oh yeah, forgot about that!

Still very low end devices, but moving up fast. I'm really excited to see the first SBCs and desktops built off of it.

I hope some big names, like SuperMicro, take this seriously and get something in our hands soon. This would be perfect for two socket 1U servers or some tiny blade units (those SM deals with four blades in a 2U kind of thing.)

Of course, for that price and specs, you could just get a Chromebook and put Linux on it.

Oh yeah, that makes more sense. LOL.

I would actually invest a decent chunk of money into SBC if the use cases weren't so fringe. (at least for me they are)

Raspian doesn't really do much for me, I suppose I need to find a decent use for these and then I'd use em.

But otherwise they're really low cost computers with an odd use case.

Debian and Ubuntu, I believe, are already set on this board.

While my main drive wasn't to get the rPi to learn some basic programming, I am hoping that it will help 'encourage' it.

I am planning to load Linux on my laptop as the primary, and take it from there. But I also am pushing myself to use the CLI more in the rPi than before..

I think that efforts like what HPE and Dell have been doing to get very high density, very low cost ARM "blades" into the datacenter is where it is going to be. And that there will either be loads of hypervisor management used to push out workloads or something similar that does this for bare metal much like Ubuntu's MaaS (Metal as a Service) to get the ARM blades to act as much like VM hosts as possible.

It seems like that is just a list of android games.

There are a handful of Android TV only titles, but nearly everything that runs on Android TV also runs on Android, but not the other way around.

Well not all Android apps run on Adroid TV, but actually most of them do work if you sideload them. Sometimes the controls can get lost if the apps only work for touch screen devices. I have sideloaded alot of apps and most android apps do work on Android TV.

Good point. I don't particularly doubt that it is there, just don't want to count unhatched chickens, you know? HP used to sell Proliants with the built in virtualization disabled via BIOS. Not that IBM would pull that, but without knowing that the feature is there for sure, it's something to look into.
