      Alexa Wallclock

A traditional clock, but you can talk to it.

      GADGET_EMWA_GATEWAY_1329x300_EWC.jpg

Who is this even aimed at if schools no longer teach kids how to read analog clocks?

that's funny - I was wondering too - is Jeff Bezos trying to bring back analog clocks?

I think the majority of wall clocks remain analogue. You might disagree, but I feel like most people find analogue clocks to be a lot more attractive. People think of analogue clocks as fancy decor for their house, digital is more for bathrooms or bedside tables.

      No I don't disagree.

      learning

Its called NPU, and everybody thinks (not the end user of-course) that it is half baked if not total gimmick.

Deep learning is shallower and more hyped than Italian television

But the people affected will just go buy new devices, connect them back up without changing default access pw

I didn't even watch that video yet, but just wanted to make a statement about that man's mustache. That alone might persuade me to use that product.

Chinese electronics firm Hangzhou Xiongmai is set to recall swathes of webcams after they were compromised by the Mirai botnet.
      Ā
Mirai exploits the low security standards of internet-connected devices, from routers to webcams, and after enslaving them with malware uses their network connections to launch DDoS attacks, such as that hobbling Dyn's DNS services last week.

      Sauce of regret: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/10/24/chinese_firm_recalls_webcams_over_mirai_botnet_infection_ddos_woes/

@tonyshowoff Msgpack looks interesting. I've got an upcoming project where I need some very small footprint (low power 8 bit uC), some of the grid nodes probably even need to send data via SMS for example (160 bytes per message). Msgpack with MQTT... Need to do some reading šŸ˜‰

Still going over this in some degree... I have a decent project for this. Hope he will manage to offer it for purchase.

You could always solder up your own Atmega328P onto the same form factor. More of a pain sure, but shouldn't be that difficult.
