After way too much time spent on this, we found the problem is twofold. Hopefully this will help someone else in a similar situation.

In the Lumens, to get it to recognize a new stream key for Facebook, we had to put in some random text characters in the stream key field, save the changes, paste the new stream key, and save the changes. That would generate the preview and allow streaming to Facebook no problem.

We found there was a greater issue present. The internet speed at the building where the encoder sits was supposed to be 100 / 7, but they were not getting anything close to that. Once we got Facebook working in addition to YouTube, we found streaming both caused them to be extremely choppy.

After having an ISP technician out to the building last week, they said the wiring in the box outside the building was awful, we were at the end of the line, and that he was surprised we ever got internet signal to the building. They are working on clearing up the pipe now so the signal is strong and clean, and we're upgrading to 200 / 10 pretty soon. We also changed the video resolution we're sending to YouTube and Facebook so we're using a lot less bandwidth to ensure we don't use the entire upload pipe.

@scottalanmiller Try with another separator instead of dash, just to make check if it's the dash or something else. Maybe just remove it altogether.

      Facial recognition anyone?

@JaredBusch Including facial recognition, but not really limited to that. @scottalanmiller expressed my thought in a very clear and laconic manner:

Oh wait, that's a Lenovo product. That would explain why there is spyware that can't be removed. That totally mimics everything we know about Lenovo. Honestly, FB is the least of your worries there.

MeWe seems to be a decent option.

I'm piddling around on a Diaspora pod (https://diasp.org/)... Diaspora (https://diasporafoundation.org) aims to be a decentralized Facebook.. I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet.

My concern about Diaspora is that there doesn't appear to be much in the way of controls for guaranteeing the privacy of users. It appears that user privacy is dependent on the honesty of the ones running the pods. I haven't dug in to it very far, so I might be missing something.

This appears to be a valid concern. Each pod can have its own TOS and such as well.

Yeah, that's a really bad idea, overall. I get why they go that route, and it's fine for a kind of "group of forums" but doesn't address the kind of usage Facebook is for.

rrent Facebook and Cambridge Analytica situation quite seriously.

I tried deactivating my account and logged in again after deactivation but its logging me in again into the FB How and Why ?Its process of deleting the user id from the Linux box its not even deleting the user it seems

What does the Linux box have connected to Facebook?

Just having a Example if we are deleting any User inside Linux box means the user will be deleted permanently but in Facebook which is not even deleting the user permanently as such

They tell you at the end that if you log back in within 14 days, the account is reactivated. Nothing surprising with that, wait 2 weeks after deactivating and then try.

Good to know, had no idea that they did that.

Yeah. I deleted my FB account before, but discovered I used it to log in to a few other websites. So i had to reactivate it, unfortunately.

Yeah, totally removing it is quite a bit problematic.

Nope, I never use third party login for another site if possible.
if not possible, the only one I use is github then Twitter.

If not available, I won’t sign up.

I do use GitHub whenever possible. I like theirs the best.

I prefer a non linked account whenever possible, but after that, yeah GitHub I like.

That's how I"m doing it now. Linked logins can cause issues down the road.

      Direct signups with different passwords.
