We're using Jamf, and it is pretty decent. With recent changes to permissions in macOS, a solution like Jamf will be the only way you can actually control certain settings. Apple is no longer content with merely ignoring professional users, but is now actively trying to eliminate them.

I think that that actually started long ago.

10.12.x is much worse that what came before. There are a significant portion of system level settings that you cannot touch even as root.

It is worth the $$... And saving us about $80 bucks a month in cable fees... Our TV bill was ~90 bucks a month. We completely dropped Cable TV (still have them for their awesome internet!)... I don't count Netflix since we've always paid for that... but we got Hulu for $8 a month, and SlingTV for $30 a month)... (Sling TV offers a few live channels, like TBS, Disney (and XD and Junior), History Channel, Boomerang, CartoonNetwork, and a few kids channels in our package.

No idea, but I stopped hearing about it a little over a year ago I think. Memory could be failing me, but certainly not anymore this year.
