      Hi,
Why is it every time we lost the power in the building the UPS dies?
When we lost power, the generator kicks-in around a minute or two, sometimes longer. When the power returns, some of the UPS will die and will need to be replaced. It's been happening for months now and defective UPS keeps filing up.
Do I need to put AVR before the UPS to protect them? I recently installed a new UPS and after a day and a half and maybe around 3 power interruptions, the UPS dies.

You have bad power during the cutover, most likely.

              How do you mean die?

              Nothing happens?,
              battery error?
              won't charge?

I'm using APC and EATON 750 UPS. the UPS keeps beeping and blinking green light as if no power but if you plug the switch direct they will work. Some UPS will be on the constant long beep and red light.

It seems this is the case, what are my options since it takes too long before we get proper power? how can I explain this to the Engineering? this is ongoing for almost a year, It seems they are not transparent about the issue or they have no idea about this issue?
I cannot rely on them to fix this, i need to find a solution to avoid getting issues with my switches and avoid spending more time moving switch directly while UPS doesn't online.

Might be a solution that needs to go over engineering. On your side, just plan for downtime. If management (over you and over engineering) deem that less downtime is necessary, then they need to demand that you get more clean power.

Some upper UPS models will provide power quality reports for you.
