I've been told Apple is the best way to go for a cell phone - Can anyone agree or disagree?
I dont really like apple products..It's a phone, it makes and receives calls first. Are there features you may want from an iPhone? If so you need to consider those features as something else may not have them.
everything Iphones can do , My Androids have been able to do..

.If you're interested in the "other side", I say give it a shot. But if you're not really interested, then stick with what you know / like.

I'm not sure yet.Meh. I could go either way. My mom loves her iPhone XS. It takes good pictures and she tortures that thing to death (well other people torture it for her by calling her on it all the time).
I like the Android ecosystem, so I just stick with it. Another phone or two and I'll be ready to switch and give Apple a try again.
Who knows.

I've decided to give IPhones a try, he coming Weeks (probably next pay day) I'll be going to get that - I want to see what the hype is about with those devices. Everyone Rants and raves about them , so Guess it's time to see.

you're jumping the gun... you should wait until the announcement of the next iphone in a few weeks... then the older models will be discounted.

my step-daughter has her Iphone 8 and she loves it. I have played around on it only a few times but cannot stand it. The one thing I absolutely enjoy about it is the keyboard. I have 80% less typo's than any other phone I have been on (mostly Galaxy S's).
The iphone 8 seemed slower when moving around than my Galaxy S6. That I don't understand..

I'll have to go and take a look and go from there.Assuming you skip the latest and greatest (aka highest cost) you can go and play with devices now... look at the Xr vs the Xs the normal size or the + size... etc. then when the prices go down because new phone released, you'll know what you want to get.

Interesting. This is exactly how I felt about Android devices. Granted I haven't had once since the Google Nexus 6P or a Galaxy S5 (man what a piece of shit!!!). The Nexus was fine for my day to day use.. I don't feel that the iPhone 6 or 7 I have been using more recently was better or worse than the Nexus.... That said, I had to borrow an iPhone 6 a few months ago while my iphone 7 was being repaired.. and DAMN - it's super slow compared to the iphone 7.
Also - phones get bogged down by having tons of shit installed... so you mentioned it was your daughter's device... how many apps were installed? how many were running when you were using it?

This is exactly my experience, too. I've had iPhones since the 3GS and I wanted to try an android phone, so I got the Galaxy S5 when it first came out. Broke the screen TWICE in a matter of 2 months (it was super fragile, I wasn't being any more rough on it than any of my previous phones...). I absolutely hated the interface, it was super jumpy just sliding the home screen left to right. 6 months in I switched back to my old iPhone.

I've been told that starting at the S6 the Samsungs became usable. Samsung is the only type of Smart Phone my wife has ever had... I think she has an S8 now. She NEVER complains about, so they must have gotten better.
Though i agree - that shit interface that Samsung slaps on their phones ---- damn it man... just leave stock android interface!

Couple friends had the S5 and yes, it was a definite piece of shit. I went from S3 to S6 and looking to go the S9 but they are now making the phones longer and that is pissing me off. I normally put my phone in my front pocket so the larger phones are becoming and issue.
It was about two days after we bought Iphone that is seemed slow. Only downloaded a couple apps and my S6 has roughly 30 with about 5 running. It could have just been timing.
