I agree, that's huge
why pay for a third party if the base OS comes with one that is just as good as the third party soft wares?

Exactly. And honestly, some of those options are crap compared to Defender in their overall interactions with the OS. Symantec and McAfee aren't on par with Defender in any way. They are awful to have installed.

@bnrstnr Yeah I agree video probably wouldnt be. I am meaning somethign like slack or rocketchat or any number of things like that set up so front person takes order and instant chat goes to chef. It could be customized of course.

do you think rocket chat or Slack could be interfaced with PoS software to run from entering items and then simply clicking Order Mode ? even if there aren't directly connected to the internet?
I'm asking cause It may be something to look into, Ya know?

COULD it? Absolutely. Would it be fun and easy? Probably not.

that might affect Slack, but not Rocket.

@WrCombs I'm not for sure on the customizations. Something should be able to work like that though. Especially if it is self hosted and contained on your local network. If it was me I would look into it at least to see the options. If so, think of the money you will save and how good you would look at implementing a solution that saved money. Just an idea of course.

COULD it? Absolutely. Would it be fun and easy? Probably not.

fair enough.
Plus It's already doing that through Printers / Video screens.
Plus - alot of the these restaurants that use Printers keep those Food orders for the night for item tracking purposes. and so on.

I got a green & black battery powered one (I forget what brand, lol). It works really well. I've got 2 batteries for it and can cut my front & back with some juice left over. No muss, no fuss. Me and my gas powered one do not get along at all.

is it just me or is server 2019 sooooo slow to reboot. i'm building some simple 2019 VMs and it seems to take forever to reboot and boot up post log in.
