Anyone ever use Univerge Blue by NEC for SIP

If I want UC, there are way better vendors to consider. Avaya, for example. Microsoft. 3CX. Even Cisco. I can't stand Cisco, and would never buy it, but if I had to choose Cisco or NEC, I'd actually pick Cisco.
Umm WTF?
Avaya? Never.
Microsoft better? Have you actually used it?
I don't think NEC is any good, but putting those two over it is a stretch to me.

Thanks for the input. I'll pass on them. Do you feel the same way about their phone PBX hardware?

I have not touched any of their hardware in years.

Yes. Check the prices, it tends to be insane.
Is there a specific feature of the Blue that you felt made it stand out?

No. First time going straight SIP. Didn't know Univerge was UC. Hardware vendor suggested Univerge.
I wanted Twillio, but they were unable to talk to me at my level. We've done a lot of VoIP, but always UC. I have a new customer that just needs 6 inbound with 6 more DIDs. Small place.

Kickbacks, I bet.

Yes. He was very up front about it too. I don't care if the price and service is solid.

Twilio, while available for phone vendors, is a company built entirely around application calling through APIs. They are fine to use, and we do use them, but they aren't for first timers or normal calling situations. They are super complex and leave the support up to you.
Your big players that I'd talk to are Skyetel and VoIP.ms. Both of whom rock and are super easy to use and provide support.

I think we know a guy or two here that can consult with you on this subject.
Also, my presentation from Spiceworld last fall is relevant for you.

If you just need a SIP trunk, they are fairly simple to setup.
I use Twilio a lot.
I refuse to use Skyetel because of their bullshit pricing practice.
If the client doens't like Twilio, I use VoIP.ms.

He's seen the pricing, he's converted already, lol.

I’m not changing my opinion on unpublished pricing just because you like it and they pay you to advertise here.
