Anyone ever hear what happened with this one? That kid was a 1PW and never responded or followed up or posted again. I wonder if anyone ever heard if he got this up and running. If he did, dollars to donuts says that all of his data was eventually lost.
He got hired by Linus Tech Tips. (I have no idea but he seems like the kind of person that would.)
People get paid there?
Apparently. It's pretty fun watching their IT fails.

@coliver I'm pretty sure that the servers they had/have are all setup in OBR5 with a stupid amount of storage on them.
Of course using winchester drives.

It's like watching people play video games badly or those girls who do make up fails. Kids love watching idiots who don't know what they are doing. And in turn, they probably aren't idiots but actually really smart people who understand that making money often means acting like a fool to get views and advertisers. In reality, the idiots are those of us trying to make a living by protecting people from themselves. There is no money in that and the people we protect rarely even appreciate it.

Someone needs to rip that earring out of his head.
Maybe then he'll get a clue.

I would watch someone play a video game badly to laugh. For sure, but I can't stand watching that guy.

He wouldn't get as many views then, and that's really the point. People don't like watching someone succeed nearly so much as the utterly stupid. (See his $100,000 pc build for another one.)

I agree, it's just painful most of the time.

That's why people watch this guy, they like to see someone "smart" also fail, makes them feel better about their own bad decisions as if "no one could have foreseen this kind of failure" when, in fact, everyone did.

Views also get him sponsorship which is where the $100,000 PC came from.

Exactly. The sponsors don't care that the content is banal. They care about the numbers of viewers and to a lesser degree their demographics.
