Good luck. You should see the first switches happen in minutes. Most in under and hour. Very few will linger to four hours.

O365 is already not complaining about domain issues.

I am thrilled to be clearing this step off the project board (which is buried). I know there will be tons of questions. but I have got to get this stuff moving. I can't keep living in the past with services and problems.

Yes, most of it will go really fast. Only places that will delay will be internal exchange servers at companies with poor DNS practices.

I find it is normally less than 15 minutes till most everything is converged.

Especially if you had previously updated your TTL to a short value.

Pushed the MX record today... Guess we'll see if it worked like it's suppose to.. just four hours of waiting for DNS updates...

Do not forget to go update your SPF record

                    Current SPF per MXtoolbox:

Thus far - about as perfect as you could ask for. No voice mails, no emails,.. so either they haven't had a problem yet, or don't know !

Tomorrow I'm sure I'll get tons of calls.. Hmm... I think I'm feeling the 24 hour bug coming on...

One thing I got ahead of myself on was my mail.(domain) A Record.

I deleted it at the same time i changed the MX. While the MX record is the important one, the A Record pointed the mail.domain so they could get to the old email from outlook.

Pointed it back so they can (should be able to) get the last message in the old pop setup... includes a link to the new portal.

Things have gone okay thus far.
