Common issue of the C:\windows\installer folder ballooning.

I manually copied cleanmgr and ran it. At the time I had 4.6GB free.

Cleanup Wizard said it would remove 12GB. Well, it took 30 minutes to run and left me with 6GB free.

So, any known good tools to clean this crap up since the MS tools did not?

I used this at home a while ago, due to one of my windows installs being xp64>vista64>7>10.
        http://www.homedev.com.au/free/patchcleaner
Never used it on a server though.

I found that in searching, but did not want to use without some recommendations.

It is available in chocolately BTW.
        https://chocolatey.org/packages/patchcleaner

Going to try it as it is specifically noted to work with Server 2008 R2.

In a crunch, you can copy the Installer folder off to a drive with more space and then delete the files from the 😄 drive... If you need them back, you can just do a directory junction to wherever you copied them to.

That looks totally deadly to a system.

It can be, especially with * option. I would assume option g that removes any cached Windows Installer data files that have been orphaned would be safer?
