@ajstringham well it depends - the home version is priced per user, so you get up to five devices for that consumer license. Basically since people have on average 3 devices, we wanted to make the licensing easy for home users and not have them worry about multiple computers, tablets and phones. The business licensing is per device and the mobile is broken out separately. Does that make sense?
Ok. However, if you don't need mobile then it seems to me it would be cheaper. Segregating it for business makes sense whereas in a consumer world it doesn't. But for straight machines I would assume the scaling is better and more cost effective. If I need 7 licenses for friends and/or family using consumer products, you're kinda stuck with no easy way to do it. 5 + 1 + 1 or 5 + 3 for the licenses. FWIW
Yeah in that case you might be better with business, since you are in effect being a service provider for your family and friends. Also the home version does have a cheaper version without the mobile included.

@aaron-studer Don't you use Sophos at work?
They usually allow you to install AV for home use as long as you have a valid license at work. We have licenses for 250 users, so we are allowed to register 250 for home use at zero charge as well.

That's pretty nice.

Panda AV did this for me in the past too. This kind of seems to be a small trend. Offices that move to Office 365 with local install Office, the users often find themselves with several licenses worth they can install at home.
Cox provides it's home users and corporate customers with McAfee AV included. -

This has been decently common in the Business Anti-Virus space for years. Additionally Microsoft has offered Office home use rights for people with service assurance for at least 5 years.

Apparently some banks and credit unions buy our software in bulk to give to their customers. It's cheaper for them to pay for AV software than the costs of identity theft overall.
-
-
We have alot of members who struggle with online banking and have run into phishing attacks causing identity theft
-
@IRJ yep we do - there's discounts for non-profits, SpiceHeads, and depending on the size of the purchase there's some room there too. Let me know if you want to talk to a sales person and get a quote.

We have the choice of using their Internet Server or our Sophos server. If you have employees that have access to secure data at home, its a really nice feature. We can make sure they stay up to date.

@Nic Do you guys have live chat? Talking on the phone is sooooooo last year.
-
@Aaron-Studer doesn't look like it, sorry They probably wouldn't have a sales convo that way anyway (nor would anyone, since they'd probably not want to put negotiations down in writing).

@nic @aaron-studer you guys can live chat right here!
