Guys, I've found the controversial article with Nutanix CE performance research. I can't really make any unambiguous conclusions, so asking your opinions on this one.

Nutanix is famous for horrible performance, this mimics what we've heard from other sources that were squashed previously. Nothing controversial, it's just published numbers that match everything we've heard and seen from other Nutanix users. Nutanix is unethical and really there is no valid reason for considering them in a production environment. Their ethical stance means you cannot trust them from a security and vendor standpoint in production, so should be ruled out from consideration regardless of their resulting performance. That their product is atrociously bad (and we've heard rumours that the products aren't necessarily even legal) is just the icing on the "don't consider doing business with this company" cake.

You bet! There are loads of great hyperconvergent solutions out there. Nutanix is just the one specific one to be really scared of. They are, quite literally, the bottom of a very long list.

Some great products to check out, depending on your needs, might be @scale @StarWind_Software or Simplivity (@HPEStorageGuy ) all of which are great vendors with great track records and reputations. There are loads of other vendors in the space (Vmware, Dell, Cisco, Pivot3) that might be worth checking out, but lack the focus on this specific market and the great reputations of these vendors. Like Cisco is known for being pretty bad, not Nutanix bad, but, not good.

I have experience with DELL hardware and VMware software and pretty much happy with them. I'll double check other solutions, thanks.

Some solutions, like Starwind, run on Dell and VMware. So that lines up directly with wanting to continue to use those vendors.
