But I will say that at least CDW keeps trying to have our account rep be a hot chick... Current rep is "Britney", and she sounds hot. I don't buy anything from her, but I will occasionally take one of her calls, just to hear her try to use her hot girl tricks on me (I don't fall for them).

She be like "hi there, would you like to buy our latest motherbrains!"

Pretty much, but she sounds cute saying it...

"Sounds hot" and "is hot" rarely go together 😉

You can take that to the bank!

@wls-itguy I use CCB for most things. They were founded on being a software VAR for non-profits. But today they are a general VAR.

I have no idea how well they work with government.

Hardware, software, etc. Servers, Desktops, Monitors, Laptops. You know all that stuff?

We have an account through CDWG (We're a school) and for the most part they are quick to get us stuff. I have been waiting on some RMAs and some Server licensing for about 2 weeks now and this isn't the first time I have been forgotten because of us being small potatoes.

I buy a lot of server and storage parts and accessories from disctech.com.

For DAS and NAS storage, whatever is cheapest... a lot of times it's newegg.com or one of their flash sales.

Recently bought two MD1000s from newegg just over $100.

For servers themselves, xbyte.com or through our Dell rep.

User desktops, Dell Refurbished or Dell Outlet.

                  • SHI (consistently good pricing and very responsive rep, easiest MS licensing procurement experience I've encountered)
                  • SCW (Southern Computer Warehouse -- a small company but they offer excellent service and pricing, I like giving business to them whenever I can)
                  • CDW (past reps were outstanding and provided years of good service; current rep single-handedly lost all our business)

Sad to say parts and accessories often come from Amazon. We are also getting a fair amount of stuff from B&H Photo Video nowadays. Finally we have MicroCenter locally and often use them for emergency parts or the occasional smokin' deals on desktops/laptops, displays, TVs, and the like.

So basically you decide on your vendors based on them having a three letter acronym based name?

But it has three letters, it's perfect.
