      That's just sad, Sparc is suddenly a much less reasonable thing to use if it's future is in question.

              I have friends who still think they're stuck with it for whatever reason. Smucker's here locally I think likes wasting money in ever larger amounts. No real reason to still need it, but they're stuck in some sort of mindset that thinks they can't migrate off of it.

                  Some companies (ahem) are so entrenched in EBS and APEX (actively still developing on APEX and trying to hire people who can) that trying to move off would cost more money.

                    People who use software that, for whatever bad reason, requires it. the SIS (Student Information System) that we're stuck with here requires Oracle.

                      I hope all these devs form some entity and continue to work on Solaris fork. I'd love to see OpenSolaris come to life again.
