@brandon220 Do you need the FXO and the card? I have a bunch of those laying around after we switched a few phones from Analog to full digital.
-
@WLS-ITGuy I planned on using a gateway versus the card/cards. I may still pick up a couple for my lab. I'll keep you in mind. The prices on them are all over the place.
-
Gateways are definitely better than cards. They give you flexibility.
-
I would go Yealink. FreePBX is on top right now but in a couple years there may be other strong options. Sangoma phones are locking you in to a vendor.
I would say the equivalent Yealink featured phone is half the price of a Sangoma phone. Yealink MSRP can be deceiving.

This is a huge thing. FreePBX is on top right now because everything else is gone. I mean it IS a good product, but it also has no competition right now.
Issabel and Xivo are up and coming competition, but neither are ready for prime time yet.

Right, if you are only buying Yealink from Amazon, you are not getting the best pricing.

Buy the Snom PA-1.
I agree 100%. We got one based one @JaredBusch recommendation, and we are very happy with it.

What Vendor are you using to buy your Yealink phones?
-
@brianlittlejohn We used voipsupply.com
They had everything we needed and the price seemed right. If you create an account and login you'll see the better, non-MSRP, pricing.

I have visited there before, but never thought about creating account from the price I saw with out one.

We like them and they are local to us here in the Niagara region.

You live in Texas now don't you?
-
VOIP Supply actually ships a lot of Yealink from Texas as they are just reselling another distributors inventory. Because of that they arent the best price I have seen out there either. Baltic is probably better.

Just looked and the phone we use is $14 cheaper on Baltic than it is on voipsupply

Wow, that's a lot.

@scottalanmiller We do use the slightly higher end model SIP-T46G though... Our ROI switching to VOIP was like 6 months, so I sprung for nicer phones than we probably could have gotten away with. Additionally, to make them function exactly like our old system we needed more line keys than the lower models had.
-
I'm putting the T46S out for our new PBX.
-
The T46 is a solid phone if you want more visible keys at once.

Two questions:
- Any thoughts about the official hosting provider http://www.freepbxhosting.com/virtual-private-server/?
- Any experience with iOS softphone apps, especially with regards to being able to make and receive calls without having your cell number exposed, and call quality.
