I have a ZenPad 8 after my son's last tablet died. That thing rocks! It's snappy and works well. His is still on Android 6, I think
@dominica and I were just discussing if we needed to move from Kindle Fires to Asus ZenPads for the kids.

The one that I really want is the 8" model and it is not available in the US. And it is more expensive than the 10" model. I really like their new releases, but 10" is too large for me to carry around.
I like the detachable keyboard feature. It's like the surface it seems, but runs Android. Not sure if she would still be able to do everything. I will have to see what she runs on it. Main thing is Office and school stuff like blackboard, which is web based... but Microsoft has office for Android, so I don't see an issue off the top of my head.

I have a Surface Book (i7, 512GB, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GPU) that has been "good enough" for me on mobile gaming and has played everything I've thrown at it. I have, though, given thought on selling it, while resale value is still high, for a good gaming laptop. Very tempted...

3D mouse? I played with one at PAX the first year. It was interesting but not something I'd use.
The "joystick" mice really kinda suck. If you're gonna go that way, go with a full 3D one instead. Engineers I supported would kill if anyone took theirs. 3D design is so much faster, add a trackball for the "normal" mouse and it's both faster and more accurate (not as much moving hands between keyboard and mouse to type the exact placement in.)
