SysPrep Windows 10 startup errors
-
So I'm trying to get a good image that we can use to deploy windows 10 with, and after sysprep'ing the system, with generalize enabled I get "Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer."
Restarting doesn't address the issue.
To get past this screen I have to "shift+F10" while inside of the command prompt "cd oobe" and then "msoobe". This obviously isn't ideal, and is very annoying. I've found this guide which says I should check the "C:\Windows\Panther\UnattendGC" directory, specifically setuperr.log.
And in here I've got "2017-02-24 14:53:12, Error [windeploy.exe] Failure occured during online installation. Online installation cannot complete at this time.; hr = 0x8007139f"
I've gonna take a look at the unattend.xml file, as this error message is referenced in the above link. Specifically spaces in the register name.
Posting in case anyone else comes across something similar.

IIRC, I think you have to uninstall some (all?) of the Win10 "Apps" to get this to work right?

I saw that as a possibility here
Which supposedly does something so the system isn't looking to the internet for something.
I haven't dug down that path yet.

This guide from The IT Bros on step 6, the builtin apps was removed.

Those guys about having no Internet and shit don't work anymore with anniversary update last time I tried it I have to do a new image again soon and I can look into that again do we have a thread here on ML about this

Interesting, so this is a new problem since anniversary update?
I'm going to have to do like JB and give this a try on Monday.

yeah that about the advertising crap... I thought This thread was about some problem with updating the included UWP apps? Am I misunderstanding something?

It most likely related is what I was trying to say. You have to remove them to use sysprep.

I walked through a start to finish build/sysprep/image/deploy process using the following steps and had zero issues.
install Windows 10 AU version
create local user as normal during OOBE
login
install windows updates
reboot
login
install MS Office 2016
Install MS Office updates via windows update
install chocolately
install adobe reader, chrome, greenshot, citrix receiver, adobe PDF-ifilter
install .net from install media
install updates
install dymo labeler
install updates
take pre sysprep image
install Panda AV
install Screeen Connect
change reg for Screen connect rollout
change panda for rollout
sysprep /generalize /oobe /shudown
make image.
deploy image
booted just fine into OOBE -
