Pertino Install on vCenter
-
Has anyone tried this yet? The necessary library, libcrypto.so.10()(64bit) is not provided by anything. Was wondering if I am the first one attempting this or if anyone has tried this before?
vCenter 5.5 is actually running on Suse 11.

Don't do it to a production server.

AJ, do you think that you need to tell him that? Pretty sure most of us here know it's not best practice to "test" in a live environment.

You don't know Scott...

How'd it go?
-
@Josh The production server crashed, caught fire, and Scott had to perform another Ice Bucket Challenge on it
-
@Brains Isn't that part of the install?

Tom Ta (our Dir of IT) has run Pertino on vCenter, but with a Windows install and I think it was 5.0. I don't think you'll be able to install on a SUSE OS.

We need Suse working. It is the number two Linux for business and the number one in Europe. And it shares the RPM format so should not need that much special attention.

A workaround would be to install the "Web Client" service in a Windows server pointing to the vCenter lookup service on the Suse vCenter. Just tried and it works!
It won't work with the C# windows client, tough. But after using the web client for a while you get use to it.

That works for the web interface, we were hoping for the SSH interface.
