and the fine print:
Top 3% of data users (> 26GB/mo.) may see reduced speeds until next bill cycle when network has competing demands.
-
Keywords I'm constantly seeing missing from other unlimited plans when network has competing demands

Yes, I love that specific wording.

I've been looking at T-Mobile.
We are adding a phone for my daughter to our plan, so I'm trying to decide what to do.

Of course you do, world traveler.
How is the coverage here in the US?
I've HEARD it's terrible around here. HEARD. NOT JUDGING OR PRESENTING FACTS.

I wish I could jump. BUT T-Mobile access in the Western NY area is HORRIBLE. We get up into Niagara County and it drops off lie a cliff, and I'm not talking about what I woudl consider rural areas.
-
Yeah I do TONS of road trips and have both a Tmobile phone and a Verizon. Tmobile consistently works well in very populated areas. Once you are rural it doesn't. Verizon has the best service still period.

Except Connecticut, NYC, Texas, Ohio....

To be fair, nobody has good coverage around here. Not only is the population density quite low, but they'd have to put a tower up on every other hill.
Take a look at a topographical map of North America sometime. The mountains to the east are short but with sheer walled valleys, while out west the mountains are tall but the valley walls aren't nearly as steep.

T-Mobile is great in Stark County.

OH I haven't had any issues with my Verizon there when we have traveled through. But we do keep to main routes so not sure that makes a difference. In TX the only place Verizon didn't work for me is in DownTown Dallas.

If you're ever through my part of Ohio I'll take a few hours off work and we can go have lunch/dinner at one of the Amish style restaurants, only then can you appreciate how backwards things are around here.

I didn't realize you were headed within 1/4 mile of my place until it was to late to plan anything

No different than you driving right past me in St Louis and claiming @scale was more important than meeting up with me.
Excuses I tell ya.

A little different, I was stopping for the night right up the road from him and it wasn't one of my long drive days
