It's time to move forward. The Brexit has happened. Let's embrace the future.

lol, I don't think that the long distance relationship would work that well.

This is exactly what the monarch is for, to protect the country from itself - especially in cases where the voting public just can't know enough about the factors involved. And the queen understands the potential horrors of a divided Europe and what it can bring. That she hasn't acted will likely be the shame that she carries with her for centuries.
The Queen has no power. Her role is purely ceremonial. Queen Anne was the last monarch to block an act of parliament and that was in 1707!

Sorry I created this thread and haven't said anything lol
To be honest I'm sick of looking at Facebook and seeing the same old post "thx people we are screwed" or "great here come the UK to rule the world"
The bottom line for me is it's happened so lets unite together and get through this and build a stronger UK. But deep inside I think we will never truly be "OUT" of the EU. It's is going to be interesting to see how this impacts on other places, like Scott has already mentioned Texas, and even what Scotland will do now.

I am horribly disappointed in how the US is proceeding.
It is not like this is even new to the US. Executive Order 9066 was not that damned long ago.
The US only trailed Germany by a bit.
And, I suspect, the tables would have been very much turned had it been the US outnumbered in the war rather than on the vastly weighted side of it. The US was distant, relatively safe and the Allied powers outnumbered the Axis powers dramatically. Flip that and if the US had been losing, if its neighbours had turned on it and it was fighting on US soil rather than in far distant locations I'm pretty certain that the greater horrors would have been in the US instead. Winning the war and being far removed from it did a lot to lessen the feeling of fear and panic.
Yeah, to this day most people have no idea of the real numbers involved for the different countries. In the US we're taught that it was us getting involved that turned the tables in the war, which is a joke when you get a hold of the real numbers.

... and even what Scotland will do now.
I'd put Scotland leaving at 99%. This was utter betrayal and even saying that the UK needs to stand together now is a slap in the face to Scotland who wanted out of the UK but in the EU. The UK threatened them with pulling them out of the EU and blocking them forever if they didn't tow the Queen's line. They did and instantly England turned out them and pulled them from the EU anyway. It's feels like England is mocking Scotland that "democracy" is just another word for "colonizing" when the majority of the vote lies in the conquering nation.

Interesting. I was reading on Ars the other day about the #1 search term was what happens if the UK leaves the EU? I can see that being researched by people who voted to stay and couldn't fathom the leave vote to be successful. But this one I'm not sure which side would be more likely to research it.
Either way it seems like there may have been some uneducated voters on both sides.

A ton of people have come out saying that they voted to leave based on...
- Protest voting because they didn't believe anyone would actually vote to leave
- Voting based on the healthcare lies that they should have known were impossible but they were so blinded with thinking that they could get something for free that they did it anyway
- Had no idea what they were voting on at all.

I was reading some of that too. That's on top of the usual anti-immigration and xenophobia that was blatantly marketed.
